Wednesday was one of those midway days at the beach. Lazy morning, hot time at the Lagoon Golf, Sophia's first putt putt experience, lunch out at Harry T's, and old time favorite, back to our beach home for a rest, and then dinner out at Louis Louis, same owner as the infamous Red Bar in Grayton Beach. Sophia and Amy walked on the beach at sunset and then we were all ready to get some sleep................Wrong.

It was around 9:30 and the fire alarm started whirling I mean it was ridiculously loud. Amy came running out from her room, I said what in the heck is going on. Amy looked out the door and the whole building complex was going crazy. We through some clothes on jerked Sophia up out of a very sound sleep, grabbed our purses and out we went, down the stairs to the the entry level, the noise was deafening, and found our way out to the front of the complex, where other, folks were gathered. Saw a security guard talking on his cell saying alright, alright, okay. Lights were flashing in the building folks were just returning and trying to enter in through the security gate, it was a rocking and action packed event. Of course everyone was questioning what had happened, did someone pull the alarm? was there actually a fire? Around twenty minutes later the fire department arrived in a mass convoy of firemen, fire trucks and ambulances, of course they were on the outside of the security gates and we were ensconced on the inside, It would have been funny if it wasn't so uncertain what was going on at that moment. (You know, they couldn't get in to help, we couldn't get out to get away) also our car was parked nice and tidy down under the complex. So when you think about just how Sh_ _ out of luck we would have been if the fire was an actuality it was just a tad overwhelming!
Sophia was a little trooper, after she got use to where we were. At first she was shaking and unsure about was happening. Eventually the firemen came back after exploring and said we could return to our rooms. They thought the signal was coming from the water sprinkler supply on the other end of the complex and the repair crew was on their way.
So our midweek lazy day had an exciting but happy ending, and we returned as Sophia say's to our beach home and went back to bed. Ahhhhh sleep at last. LSL
